Floristry Course

I am currently sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine and I thought it would be a good time to multitask - sunbathing plus updating my blog.

So I am going to time travel briefly, as I need to travel back in time to write about some stuff that I have done within the last month.

Firstly, for Mother’s Day I decided to get my mum a floristry course off Groupon with the School of Floristry. Even though Mother’s Day was in March we didn’t complete the course until the end of April and I decided to go along too and keep my mum company as it would have been rude not too :)

The School of Floristry is in Isleworth and the course was 3 hours long and included all the flowers we needed.

During the course we learnt how to make a hand-tied bouquet (where the stems all spiral) as well as a table arrangement. The lady who was teaching us was very good, she knew lots about floristry and gave us some great hints and trips.

All in all it was a successful course, as both myself and my mum came away with some lovely bouquets and table arrangements. If I am honest my bouquet was better than my mum’s, but according to my dad my mum’s table arrangement was better, although my brother didn’t agree (thanks Kevin :))

I don’t think either of us are ready to open our own florists just yet, but we did learn some brilliant skills which we can definitely us again - so beware friends and family you could very well be getting a Plumb original bouquet or flower arrangement very soon.
