Ok, so the lesson I have learnt is not to let my cousin stay over at my house and not to give her wine :) The reason being we always end up with numerous afternoon teas booked! Only joking I love afternoon tea (and my cousin obviously), well what is there not to like - tea, sandwiches, scones, jam and cakes.
So on a day in September my sister, cousin and I set off for a fun day in London. We decided to make the most of our day off and visit London Zoo first. London Zoo is quite expensive in my opinion, but I really wanted to check out the new Tiger Territory enclosure and see the young tigers that were there. So I convinced the others it was a good idea to visit the zoo and once we had some pastries they were relatively happy to walk the 20mins from the station to the zoo.
The new enclosures at the zoo are really good, and the Tiger Territory did not disappoint, although we did go around most of enclosure only seeing the adult tiger. I was getting ready to apologise for getting the others to pay all that money and not even seeing the young tigers, when a volunteer there pointed out the 3 young tigers sleeping in a corner. They were so cute and definitely worth the trip!
Next stop was the Dorchester for afternoon tea, which we were all super excited about, we deliberately did not eat any lunch so we could fill up on mini sandwiches and cakes.
The Dorchester itself is a stunning hotel with huge gorgeous flower arrangements inside everywhere you looked. The food was yummy, but I have to admit I was not the best afternoon tea I have had the pleasure of enjoying. I would still very much recommend it and give it a 4/5 rating :)
Now its time to go off and find some more places for afternoon tea, any recommendations would be great!
