Winter Wonderland at the top of Selfridges

On a grey, rainy afternoon in February, following a trip to the cinema to see the Kingsmen Secret Service (which on a side note is a brilliant, funny film). My sister, brother, cousin and I ventured to the top of Selfridges to check out their Le Chalet restaurant. Le Chalet was based on a winter cabin, which was the perfect setting to enjoy some tea and scones while the rain fell outside. The scones were huge and were served warm with clotted cream and strawberry jam, delicious! We didn't try anything else on the menu, but the food looked and smelt yummy!

The decoration in the restaurant was stunning, there were trees with fairy lights guiding the entrance and then inside the restaurant there were a number of log fires, which gave the place a cosy feel. There were also blankets on the chairs, in case you got chilly, this was mainly for when the roof was open and people were sat outside.

We couldn't see much of the views that were on offer due to the rain, but on a lovely sunny day the roof can be opened and you could have got a view across parts of central London. They would not have been the best views on offer in London, but regardless they would still have been nice.

Unfortunately Le Chalet has since closed, as it was a seasonal restaurant and has now been replaced by a new restaurant (which I plan to check out soon).
