Murder Mystery Dinner Party

This year my friend Naomi decided to host a murder mystery dinner party for her birthday, which I was super excited about as a murder mystery dinner party is one of those things I have always wanted to do but have never got round to doing so. Unfortunately I was on night shifts the same night as the dinner, but I still managed to go along for part of the evening there was no way I was going to miss out on at least some of the fun.

A week before the dinner we all received a Facebook message to tell us which character we would be playing on the evening of the dinner party - I was to play Maria Von Schnapps. We were also given some background info on this character plus a suggested costume, which lead to many text messages with Lucy to decide what we should wear.

Finally the evening of the murder mystery dinner party arrived and we all descended on Naomi and Rhys's house in all of our finery.

The evening was filled with lots of laughs and chocolate related puns along with yummy food, which was technically my breakfast as I was between night shifts. I managed to enjoy the first course, which was delicious pea and mint soup and homemade bread rolls, and the first range of interrogating. Unfortunately, I then had to leave to go to my night shift with my main course of lamb shank, red cabbage and mash in a tupperware box - this was one of if not the best meal I have ever had on a night shift and I was the envy of the rest of my work colleagues.

Thanks to watching programmes such as Elementary I managed to guess the correct person as the killer without hearing all the evidence, and I was in fact the only person to correct identify the murderer.

I can not wait for the next murder mystery dinner part, I just hope next time I will be able to stay and enjoy the whole evening and not have to take my dinner away with me!
