Pasta Making Class

This post is a little late, but in March Naomi and I went for a pasta making class at Jamie Oliver's Recipease in Notting Hill. It was a present for Naomi's birthday and I knew she was a fan of pasta following a very subtle conversation we had one evening on the way home from a pilates class :) I don't think she noticed or caught on to anything, I would make a good spy!

So on Mother's Day (very bad planning by me...opps sorry Mum), Naomi and I ventured across London to Notting Hill, which is an area of London I have never been to before. We were a little early and being the cake monsters that we are, Naomi and I took no time in deciding to walk down to Hummingbird Bakery, where I had a delicious red velvet cupcake.

It was then time for our 2 hour filled pasta making class where we were taught how to make fresh pasta from scratch plus a delicious lemon, ricotta and spinach filling. The chef we had teaching us was brilliant, and broke all the steps down in a way that were easy to understand and follow.

The class was so much fun and I was much better at it than I thought I would be (I am not the greatest cook as I get bored very easily), although we were not as good as the couple beside us who were told my the chef that their pasta dough was perfect. Teachers pets! The only issue I had was when one of my ravioli developed a hole and so I had to make a pasta plaster and cross my fingers hoping that the ravioli wouldn't burst in the saucepan when I cooked it. Thankfully, the pasta plaster held :)

Naomi and I then sat down and enjoyed our delicious pasta, which tasted even better as we knew we had made it all ourselves.

I would definitely recommend the filled pasta making class at Jamie Oliver's Recipease, it is brilliant for all abilities. I can not wait to try another one of their cookery classes again soon, I already have my eye on a few classes which look good, one of which involves chocolate :)
