Supermoon Lunar Eclipse

I was lucky enough to be on a night shift on Sunday night, I don't usually say that, but it meant I got to witness the full supermoon Lunar Eclipse which was amazing. A shadow started to appear from the north-west corner of the moon from around 1.10am and then continued to spread south-eastwards across the moon over the next few hours. By around 3am the moon was totally eclipsed and had started to turn an orangery red colour. We went back up to the 7th floor of our building around 3.45am to have another look at the moon, when the eclipse was at it max. Unfortunately there was a lot of light pollution in central London and so the moon did not look as red as some of the amazing eclipse pics I have seen. We did luckily get to see the moon a rusty red colour, which was amazing. I only had my smart phone with me, which was a same, and so didn't get to take any proper pics, but I did take some pics of the moon starting to reappear from around 4.15-4.30am.

I feel very lucky to have been able to see the supermoon lunar eclipse, we only have to wait until 2033 for the next one :)
